Bioreclamation owns the animals in its primate colonies. This ownership and control enables us to send screening samples, and re-bleed specific animals which meet our clients criteria. Our screening and re-bleeding program can be a huge cost savings measure for our clients by allowing them to pre test animals prior to purchasing large volumes of material which may not work for their intended application. The material collected from these specific animals may be sent as lots from each individual, or pooled into larger lot sizes and aliquoted per the client's specification. This processing is done while material is fresh/cold and as soon after collection to minimize freeze thaw cycles and the detrimental effect this may have upon the sera. These detrimental effects of repeated frezze/thaws (fibrinogen clotting, anticoagulant breakdown, and reduced complement activity) is usually seen with large pools of Bulk material sold through brokers or other undocumented sources. Additionally, several clients have reserved specific animals for their use alone and receive serum from these monkey everytime they are scheduled to be bled. This service is also available to all of our clients upon request.
